Hi Everyone!

I've always admired folks who set themselves mini goals.
And thought I should try some too.
1. LUNCHTIME WALKS-After eating my lunch and returning the children I have 30 mins before our afternoon lessons begin. Now the weather has started to improve I would like to build a 15 min - round the block-walk into my day. I used to do this, just put on my trainers and go for it. I know that it isn't long but it always cleared my mind and made my afternoon's more productive (which in turn benefits the children).
2. MENU PLANNING FOR THE MONTH
3. STICKING TO A FOOD BUDGET
We've tried it per week but have gone back to our preferred method. So far we've spent about £18 so far of our £100 budget. We want to keep £40 back for our holiday to Devon/Cornwall so our actual budget is about £42. We have got most meals covered though so this possible.
4. PORTION CONTROL-Less snacking/Keep to meal times Smaller portions
5. KEEP UP WITH READ A BOOK A MONTH CHALLENGE
6 MAKE A BIT OF SPARE CASH to put in the SEALED POT.
ARE YOU SETTING MINI GOALS THIS MARCH?

Love the idea of a lunchtime walk - I would like to start going for early evening walks as the daylight hours increase. Good luck with your goals. Claire xo
ReplyDeleteHi Clare,
DeleteThe lunchtime walk is one of my most important goals. Evening walks are a good idea too, maybe more for next month because we can get home quite late.
Sft x
I generally do have mini-goals in place each month - some roll over and are ongoing, meal planning etc, while others might be a one off - perhaps some decorating stuff to be done, or something of that nature.
ReplyDeleteThis month I will be aiming to overhaul my wardrobe as part of my "Simplify It 2013" challenge.
Hi Robyn,
DeleteYes, I tried the 333 overhaul of my wardrobe, a challenge when it was really cold.
But I like having less things. You feel better for it.
Good luck with your mini-goals.
Sft x
Good luck! I'm aiming to start evening walks now that the nights are getting lighter.
ReplyDeleteMini goals for March on my blog :)
Hi Laura,
DeleteI hope your mini goals go well too.
Sft x
All very sensible goals. I think the main thing with any goal is that they're achievable. As you know, I like to make my goals fun, it's so easy to get in to a rut that you forget about taking time for yourself and enjoying life.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that you like making your goals fun! Enjoying life is so important.

My mini goals are for March/April (I like seasonal goals). I want to finish my studio, have the yard prepped for this year's planting, put up a small privacy fence, and get firmly on my housekeeping schedule.
ReplyDeleteHi Teri
DeleteGood luck with your goals, they sound great!
Sft x
Your lunch time walk sounds wonderful - a whole 15 minutes to yourself. I'm not so much of a goal setter, but I always have things to be ticked off the 'list' and I will set inside my mind a target of when I would like it done by. Usually I am quite good at getting these things done as if it's left undone it will more than likely cause problems further down the line.
ReplyDeleteHappy walking and good luck with the rest of your mini goals.
Sx
Yes, it does make a difference. Although our weather sounds like it's getting arctic again but I'm not giving up.
DeleteI like lists too. They are very useful.

I definitely want to read a book a month. That's a great goal! I have lots of little goals at the minute. I'm crazy busy at Uni so I have to keep a to-do list to stay on top of it all!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying my reading. 1 per month seems achievable and I seem to be well ahead.
DeleteI like to do lists.
Sft x
I don't really have goals. I read about all the people who have goals, and wonder if I'm meandering through life in an aimless way!
ReplyDeleteScarlet, you don't have time for goals with all the other busy stuff you're doing! :-))
DeleteI agree, you are fantastic and inspire us all.

The daily walk at lunch time sounds like a great idea. This coming weekend we put our clocks ahead, so it will still be light at 7:15 or so, and with the weather not as bitter cold, I plan on walking in the evening.
ReplyDeleteAt this time of the year, with all the dull grey days I have found it easier for me to set daily goals. Not rewarding myself to read, quilt etc. etc until these chores are done. You would be surprised how much I get accomplished. I still have long term goals saving for trips, sealed pot, and keeping within my budgeted amounts for food, and housekeeping bills.
Patricia
Lovely to hear you have walking goals too.
DeleteI love your idea of rewards for achieving goals. I will try that idea.

Actually I need to reread the goals I wrote in January. I have been inconsistent about my goals and it is time to revise them.
ReplyDeleteThe weight goals are going so badly. Oh boy my tummy seems to equal Santa Claus's and feels prodigious at present. I need to improve things there. I need to work hard on saving again. I spent far more than I should have this week. I spent less while on ship but heaps before hand as I found some decent clothes on sale. For the first time in about ten years I bought a pair of jeans and several tops to match them. I also splurged on new underwear as well. The items on the ship that tempted me were far out of my range. I ignored the Harrods stuff and most of the souvenirs. I fell in love with a beautiful bag but didn't like the $400 US price tag. The next day I fell in love with a bracelet. It was easy to walk away from the $15 000 tag. It was so small and simple looking too. However some t shirts for the family and a book or two were purchased.
I also need to revise my food planning as we still have not consumed much of the stockpile.
I hope that now our weather is improving I can get back to my weight goal.
DeleteGlad you are spoiling yourself a bit. You deserve it.
Good luck with the food planning. Looking forward to hearing more about that.

Hi SFT
ReplyDeleteI think about goals but think I should perhaps blog them down at the beginning of each month. You do really well and I am in awe of youre organization x xx
Oh, I am inspired by others (yes Laura, I mean you).

Hi SFT,
ReplyDeleteI decided to stop smoking and lose weight. You have been very supportive over on my blog. Happy to say, off the smokes, sadly am snacking a lot. My goal for March is healthy snacking only and I fancy the lunchtime walk too.
Good luck with your goals. Oh, found 31p yesterday for the pot! Yippee.

Hi Sarah,
DeleteI do hope you do brilliantly with your goals. I'll be popping over to give you moral support.
Just make sure you're snacking on super foods and staying healthy.
Good news about you feeding the pot.
