  1. How fantastic so many have signed up! for us the excitement is building as Bob has opened his pot for our small holidays(weekends through the year) we have been in awe of how much his has added up which makes me more and more excited. He counted his the other day and he had a $100 note in there!!!!! as we hardly ever see them I asked where that came from? he said remember we did all the overtime for the postal managers in September and they paid us each in $100 note...heck yes that means there must be one in my pot and I have forgotten ..I simply cannot wait!!!!!as you know this is for our fares to the Uk in 2014/15 and the more I can have in there the easier it will be to achieve.I am so glad we joined in this challenge and I have just filled my third pot for the year,I have no idea if I will be able to gather that much next year but who cares!this is now!!! o'h my bring on 3rd December..o'h no better not hurry it i have lots to do lol.

    1. Oh Carole, can't wait until you open yours on the 3rd and tell us how well you've done.

It will be such a great start for your UK trip.

3rd December will come around soon enough but there is still time to fill another pot :)

  2. Wow - that's a lot of people!

I've promised the kidlets we're going to be having a few days away before Christmas next year... A European city is looking like the most popular idea! Determined to get saving & take the 7 of us somewhere nice!

We all like Bruges & would love to go & visit their Christmas market & see the ice sculptures.

Thanks Sft - your motivation is infectious!

    Kay :)

  4. Wow, what a following! :) I won't join in this time, because I very rarely have any money on me. I find I spend less on cards than cash at the moment!

    1. I am delighted that so many people want to join.

I think I've added less at times this year, when we were really GOING FOR IT-regarding the mortgage. But next year will be a different matter.

      Really looking forward to it.

  8. I will be cracking my pot open in March as I am definitely having a bucket list few days with a short break on the Queen Mary as she sails from Brisbane to Sydney. Caring for dad means planning ahead and trying to find a break that is restful. This should be a trip of a lifetime.

    1. That sounds lovely Dreamer.

I'm looking forward to gathering up lots of £2 coins over Christmas-always seems to be loads around.

      Wooden flooring sounds very posh.

  11. Hello. Firstly let me say congratulations on finishing paying your mortgage and i hope you succeed in saving for you travel. I don't know if i can join the sealed pot challenge because i started mine in May and am mainly saving £2 coins. I do not plan on opening my pot until either the summer holidays for my postponed trip to Zimbabwe or for my graduation meal in November 2013. If this is ok i will be happy to be added to the list.

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment.

You are more that welcome to join the challenge.

I think the most important thing is to encourage saving, rather than the grand opening (although I am looking forward to that of course).

      Your goals sound very exciting.

  15. A brilliant list, we're a good little saving gang.

Please add my Mum's name to the list, she spent last weekend trawling the charity shops and managed to acquire a pig named Percy. She's started saving already as she popped her change from the shop straight into his empty little tummy.

So that will be, Joan - Saving for Something Special

Seems like Joan's already got the sealed pot bug.

Have you warned her that it does get addictive?
